Australian TV Station Fined for Hypnosis Breach

During the September 2008 airing of the tabloid show, A Current Affair hypnotherapist, Mark Stephens performed a one-minute hypnosis session to promote his weight-loss program, Think Slim. After the broadcast a complaint was filed with the Australian Communications and Media Authority by a viewer who took exception to the hypnosis. Max Cooper, reported in The Age that under the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice programs are not allowed to air shows aimed at hypnotising viewers
