Embracing Positivity

There’s been a lot of talk about lately about positivity.  You know, “think positive!  You’re going through this for a reason,” or “when you act positive, it will change your day and that of others around you, too.”  That sort of stuff.  And although some may balk at such a suggestion, anyone who has experimented with a trial of positivity will tell you, it actually works.  And as one who has done just that, I thought I’d share some of the tips out there about how to integrate positivity into your daily lives…we’ll all be much better off with a dose or two!  First, be conscious of your thoughts.  The moment you see that you are diving into frustration, agony, sorrow and low self-esteem, shift your thoughts, by thinking about something completely unrelated.  Count your blessings, as you can’t be angry and grateful at the same time, can you.  Begin by counting your blessings and the miracles in your life, begin looking and you will likely find many more—remember, you are lucky to have all this great abundance in your life.   Practice seeing yourself in a positive and confident light whenever you have a few minutes to spare (examples; sitting on the bus, riding an elevator.) Self-affirmations are a great and powerful tool to train your subconscious to see yourself in a positive light, something many of us need as we can be so hard on ourselves, cant we?  Try to keep an inventory of memories that can immediately make you smile, like times when you felt happy and appreciative, or were at peace with the world and use them whenever you are in a negative frame of mind.  Change your approach and attitude and try to stop criticizing others and situations. Instead, shift from fault-finding to appreciation-finding.  Have a great day!
