How to Keep Warm on a Chilly Night

cozy-fireBrrrr. It’s getting cold outside and if you’re like us and trying to save money, your plumbing and heating system is probably not jacked all the way up like it used to. But have no fear, a frigid home doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be chilled to the bone. Here are some natural ways you can warm up—without a high heating bill!

•    Drink your eight glasses of water a day…hot! It’s harder to drink your required water intake when it’s cold out, but it’s no less important in the fall and winter than it is in the summer. The good news is that you can drink body-warming tea for some of your daily cups. Caffeine-free would be the way to go—you’ll stay hydrated and warm all winter!
•    Buy HeatBands to kill the chill. It’s easy to walk around a cold house with cozy sweatpants and a warm sweater, but wearing mittens indoors can make household chores tough. What you probably don’t know about cold hands, is that it’s really due to cold air hitting the small and close to the surface blood vessels in you wrists, not your hands. Keep your wrists warm with HeatBands and you’ll start to feel life again in your suddenly warm and cozy hands and fingers. They warm up cold hands in space—they’ll certainly work in your living room!
•    Drink a glass of red wine. Red wine helps increase circulation—the more efficiently your blood is pumping, the warmer you’ll be. Red wine is also a heart-healthy beverage—certainly can’t hurt to keep warm and lower cholesterol at the same time!
•    Have sex. You may think that piling ON clothing is the best way to stay warm, but body heat generated through intense skin-on-skin action will actually keep you warmer than donning your winter coat! Sexual arousal will raise your temperature a bit, and getting all hot and sweaty with sexual intercourse will distract you from the cold air around you!
