Whiter Teeth, Naturally
One of the latest trends in the world of dentistry is teeth whitening, and I completely understand why. Having whiter teeth changes your whole look for the better—so much that people are paying a fortune and using some icky chemicals to achieve that look. I want to tell you that there are simpler and healthier ways to get whiter and brighter teeth than the whitening procedures used at the dentist’s office or ordered from an online pharmacy. First of all, prevention if obviously key: teeth become yellow and pale due to age, consumption of tea and coffee, tobacco and cigarettes. So if you can quit smoking or reduce some of these habits, you’re already halfway there. There are a few great natural remedies you can use to make your smile brighter without harming your teeth in other ways. Did you know that people use strawberry to whiten teeth?? Here’s how to do it: take 1 ripe strawberry and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Crush the strawberry to a pulp, and mix it with the baking soda until blended well. Then use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth and leave it on for 5 minutes. Afterwards, brush your teeth thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berry–baking soda mix. Rinse and floss out strawberry seeds if necessary. Do this once a week for a brighter smile. If you don’t have access to fresh strawberries, other good teeth whiteners include silica, apple cider, white vinegar, bamboo powder, calcium carbonate and sodium chloride. You could make a mix of calcium and the white part of orange peels to add shine to your teeth when rubbed on before a night out or an interview. The Ayurvedic folks out there recommend soft neem branches to be used as a toothbrush to clean the teeth and if you’re daring, its said that chewing neem branches helps tackle teeth problems and clears the yellowness from the teeth. Some ancient peoples used to make a powder of almond peels and used to use to it with a little salt on the teeth to whiten them and believe it or not, pepper essence mixed with salt has also been used should be applied on the teeth to whiten them. And best of all, all of these remedies are inexpensive and frugal!
